It is signed by the artist with his name and the name of the town Chulucanas. She is 3 1/2" tall, 3" wide and 3" deep. Manuel and the other artists in Chulucanas, Peru, use an ancient technique to create this style of art pottery. The material used as fuel during the firing process enables the clay to take on different colors. A special black stone is used to shine the surface. The artists hand paint the pieces to give them their desired look. The figurines show things that are done around the town., This lovely lady is putting or pulling fish in a bowl.
